| - Driving from Toronto to Montreal on Canada Day I was pleased to see that What a Bagel was open, since I was craving a bagel as I started the long drive. They had a variety of bagel that I had not seen before--pumpernickel with sesame--so I ordered that with chive cream cheese to take away. As I waited for it to be ready I caught sight of the other baked goods, including some rugelach and mandelbrot, so I got a few of those to take along, too, and an "everything" pretzel, too.
The bagel was very good, though perhaps a bit softer than a Montreal bagel would be. But the rugelach were unassailable, especially the chocolate ones, very friable and tender, and would have been great with a good cup of coffee. The pretzel was very good, too, made out of bagel dough rather than pretzel dough. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
