  • We've left our Golden Retriever at DD about five times over the past couple of years, for anywhere between one night and a week. It seems like every time we've picked him up he's sick. This past Saturday evening we picked him up after staying two days (one night), and the next morning he began throwing up, seven times throughout the day and night. Including blood in the bile. Second time that's happened, but other times it's been either a severe cold or diarrhea. I'm about done. The staff seem nice, the facility itself seems okay, and maybe he enjoys his time there playing with other dogs. But it's just not worth it to me, unless in an emergency. I wish I could rate them higher. Update. 4/29/15. The manager at DD, Shannon, was nice enough to contact me after reading my review, and asked about Harley. She let me know that they freshen the water frequently, and always watch for signs of illness, which I believe. Perhaps the problems with my dog are stress related, because he isn't boarded very frequently. Anyway, kudos to her for reaching out and discussing it with me. For that, and the fact that it may not be entirely the fault of DD, I'm revising my rating from two to three stars.
