rev:text	2.5 Review Before they moved to this new location, i would've given them ZERO stars! I didn't because the selection is pretty good and there are no other stores in Markham that sell the variety of decorations that they do. This is what makes them 2-2.5 for me: High turnaround of management & staff - the customer service is horrible! Nobody wants to help locate merchandise or balloons in the disaster area they call the balloon bins! It's next to impossible to find a person on cash, balloons & the floor at the same time. One or 2 people tend to disappear when the store starts to get a bit busy. You really have to wonder why they've had 3-4 different managers in less than 5 years! It's quite clear who wants to be there working and who's only there to make money for the Summer. Store selection & variety - It's starting to get really messy and difficult to find things. Almost reminds me of the old location before they moved. I always get the same excuse "what you see is all we have". On the rare occasion i'll get a gem of a cashier that will check the overhead space (where they keep overflow - but the lazy staff wont tell you that) and i will find what i'm looking for or they will direct me to a location that has what i need. They have a great selection of loot bag items, However, they are not very good at keeping the shelves stocked or re-ordering/ordering items and i will usually find the same selection after a few weeks away from the store. I've started buying a lot of party things now at Walmart (plates, cups, cutlery & napkins). I stick to decor at Party City. Balloon ordering - what a mess!! It takes 10 min to flag someone down. In that time you're scrambling through dozens of bolted down (never were before) bins trying to find the right balloons that are supposed to be in the clearly labelled bins. None of the staff or management thinks it makes sense to have that area organized?!? There are days where there are 5-6 people digging through the bolted down bins trying to find what they need. The staff hangs around laughing and joking around. Blowing up balloons so much that there hasn't been a visit where there hasn't been at least 2-3 balloons pop while i am in the store. My sons last birthday the balloons were blown up so poorly they deflated by the next morning. My daughters lasted 3-4 weeks! For me i dread having to put a balloon order in because it is so messy there and unorganized, but what choice do i have for a party store close to home? I like this store at Halloween because they have a great selection of costumes & decor. It is probably the only time of the year that they hire adequate staff to accommodate one of the busiest times of the year. Overall, i'm happy that i only have to go to this store 2x a year for birthdays. My last visit a few weeks ago - someone was filling up the balloons and popped 3 in a row from over filling (laughing the whole time). A customer showed up for their order - it had the wrong amount of balloons (had to wait for 2 more), balloons were being given to a customer and carelessly dragged through while pulling down (ribbons got stuck) a row of balloon weights. They all thought it was so funny, while the line starting getting longer & longer and all 3 people behind me were huffing under their breaths about what a mess the store was. Oh and the manager was there looking dishevelled but not once stepping up to get everyone to take things seriously while people were even walking out of the store because nobody was helping them. I hope things turnaround at this store and it is back to being what it was when they first opened at this address. Or else more people will be shopping at Dollarama & Walmart!
