  • I volunteered at Desert Mission and it was incredible to see the amazing things they do for the less fortunate. I learned that DMFB is associated with John C. Lincoln health network and is actually the oldest food back in AZ (they filed with the state later and don't officially have that title). The staff is AMAZING. We served turkey dinners near Thanksgiving and it was very special to see the happy, smiling faces as folks walked out with plenty of food to feed their entire family. The establishment is very well organized, with operations in the back and service staff up front. We provided over 800 turkey meals the one day I was there, very cool! You can feel a sense of family with the other volunteers and the DMFB staff made us all feel welcome.
