| - Been to Cooper's a few times now, mostly for drinks and a couple of times for food. They have a pretty good selection of beers and booze. The space is small, so it gets pretty cramped especially on the weekends. Cell phone reception = incredibly spotty in this place, yes, the struggle is real. I like the round tables up by the front windows, nice little design touch. And the small private room in the back of the bar is also a nice cozy space for your group if you can get it.
The food is pretty good. I got the bone marrow once and it was tasty and buttery. Other people in my group got the burgers and sandwiches, all looked great.
The most recent visit was for Sunday brunch. It was a short wait to get seated, which was not problem. I got the steak and eggs and others in my group got the eggs benedict. I wasn't asked how I wanted my steak done, but it came out just under medium, so that was fine with me. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, which made everything taste heavier than it should have. The rosemary potatoes were alright. They would have been better if it were more crispy like breakfast potatoes, rather than the more dinner like roasted potatoes that I got. After all, this is brunch, not dinner. My friends both enjoyed their eggs benedict. One did mention her eggs were a little over poached, but it wasn't a huge complaint.
Overall, a decent option to keep in mind for downtown outings day or night.
