we were looking for a fairly close, not to expensive, good food place..tired of the same o same places. So we looked this up and gave it a try. It is a step into the westside.
The restaurant 's ambiance is out of the past, but it was clean and the service was good. I ordered a turkey pot pie with one trip to the salad bar. my partner ordered the half roasted chicken dinner. Bread came to the table first. God..it was fresh and tasty..really home made. The food arrived promptly . Their was enough food to feed four people. The Turkey pot pie was huge . I actually had large chunks of white meat turkey, potatoes, carrots, a few peas (thank god) It was hot. The crust was good .Only criticism would be that it was a bit dry and the crust could have been more flaky like a pie crust. The chicken was perfect...dressing was like thanksgiving. veggies all good.
added coconut cream pie ..one piece...it was ok..a bit dense and the crust was not flaky. All this with tea was 27 bucks. A good meal at a fair price. the pot pie made
DUCE and ESSENCE pot pies look and taste like crap. hats off to this place. If you are hungry and with limited funds....this is a great place.by the way...the salad bar was clean and the lettuce was fresh and not limmpy...good things to put on the salad.
impressive for the price. will go back.
