SCAM ALERT! Benjamin Franklin Plumbing (BFP) is an absolute rip off. First, the company charges a $70 fee just to send out a plumber. The lady in charge of scheduling said BFP was running a special and the fee would only be $50. I agreed and a plumber was dispatched. The tasks I had for the plumber were simple; remove 2 toilets and install 2 new ones, which I had already purchased. The plumber said the job would cost $600. He then informed me that the flange in the guest bathroom needed to be replaced and it would cost $480. Needless to say I told him to get out of my house. He then reminded me I still had to pay the dispatch fee. I was charged $80! That's right, $70 became $50 became $80. I paid the fee just to be done with this insult. I should have called the police instead. The real plumber that eventually did the work charged $150 for the guest bathroom. As it turned out the flange didn't need to be replaced only reinforced with a $10 metal ring. The master bathroom actually did need a new flange so I was charged $450 for the work. The total for the two bathrooms was $600. The BFP plumber would have done the same work (and replace a flange unnecessarily) then charged $1,560. Never use BFP. And as a general rule, never pay any plumber a fee just to provide a quote.
