I took my van back to this place to have the pads replaced under their "Lifetime Warranty". Manager advised me "we honor the warranty but we have to charge you 2 x $ 70,- for the front rotors" I agreed to this verbal estimate and was surprised when I was told to pay almost $ 280,- when the work was done. The manager had already left by then and the new employee explained "there is a $ 100,- labor charge". This was not mentioned and I would not have authorized the work if they had given me a written estimate saying that I would have to pay $ 280,-
Not giving written estimates and later stating "we told you that..." is part of their game. Actually my girl friend wasn't able to hear anything either about oral explanations of labor charges - Don't forget to bring your tape recorder if you are still planning to do business with these crooks.....
And here is another story: Years ago I took my Porsche Carrera to this place to have the brake fluid changed. When I didn't see my car in the shop or anywhere around (after about half an hour) I inquired where my car was and I was told "We had to take it for a test drive..." This wasn't done with my authorization either. What they called a "test drive" was more likely a joy ride: 30 additional miles on the odometer. Strange that they did not have to "test drive" my Dodge van after changing the brake fluid....
