  • If you want to live somewhere that you will regret every single day, look no further than 1005 west trade. I'm an animal lover, and a great part about living here was the dog feces and throw up commonly found in the elevator. That weird smell in the hallway? It's just because people here like to hoard far too many animals in their 1000 square foot apartment. Speaking of animals, their apartments come with your very own cockroaches!! I always wanted an animal of my own and when I found my first cockroach in my bathroom, well I was so excited. But believe me there were more to come!! Under my bed, in the kitchen, the closets, everywhere! I love the environment and when I see that the trash shoot is commonly overflowing with dirty garbage, I know people are doing their part to keep our earth clean of waste. They also don't provide recycling services which is really just an added convenience. We all know recycling is terrible for mother earth! Don't ever be bothered by the leasing office here because no staff is ever there! Have a question or an issue with one of the shitty appliances in your apartment? Don't worry about it! They don't care so neither should you! Garbage disposals are such a first world luxury anyway. If you ever want to pick up a package you ordered, you may just never see it, but it's probably for the best. Did you really even need that Amazon order? Probably not! Another thing I love? Art. Art is in all forms at 1005 west trade. They did a marvelous job with the beautiful clusters of mold forming around all of the air vents! I would stare up at my ceiling at night and think, "This must be just like the Sistine Chapel." Then I'd wake up with a sore throat from breathing it in all night and have a great excuse to call out of work with the sinus infections I got from it. When I told them about it they spray painted over it! Such a crime against art moderne, but thankfully it grew back over the new paint very quickly. The complex provides a wonderful parking lot where it's a game of musical spots! But if you have an issue getting a spot, just don't have a car! Problem solved. Also, if you ever want to donate to the poor, or just the scum bags who like to hang around 1005, just leave some valuables or clothes in your car, they are sure to be gone by the next morning. And look, you saved a whole trip to the Salvation Army! The low income housing tax break they receive provides a diverse community in the complex, and if you're hankering for a drug fix, the hallways commonly smell strongly of weed, so strongly in fact that you don't even need to smoke it yourself. Just keep breathing it in! This place is great for families who want a short life expectancy for their children. Sometimes people in the complex like to play a fun game and walk around the hallways and try to find apartment doors that were left unlocked to see who they can rob. It leaves you on the edge of your seat! So fun!! All of the window locks were broken in our apartment when we moved in but who needs to lock windows anyway? Let that natural city air in and the sound of SO MUCH TRAFFIC OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR! You won't ever get a full nights sleep again, but sleep is for the weak! You're near a Starbucks, so you should be fine. Ah the winter time. Who doesn't just crave a nice hot cup of cocoa followed by iceskating on the front steps of your building? At 1005, they don't trouble themselves with salting or shoveling, because that would be such a waste of a naturally made rink! Lace up your skates come January because the sidewalks and stairways are just waiting for you to get a slippin' and a slidin'. The laundry room is also a great place to feel insanely creeped out and fear for your life a little. Who doesn't like to live on the edge? Wait - one star you ask? How ever could that be? If I could give this place a rating of "Absolute Hell on Earth" believe me, I would.
