| - I have GREAT news! I heard firsthand that Pane Bianco is getting their liquor license...YELPERS REJOICE!
Besides that excellent news, I am happy to report that Pane Bianco's sandwiches are still as delicious as ever. Like everyone else here, I am slightly obsessed with the mozzarella sandwich. I have both dined in and ordered my sandwich to go. I noticed that my bread was toasted when eating in the restaurant, whereas the chewy, soft bread was left alone when I grabbed my sandwich to go. I definitely prefer it untoasted and plan to order it that way in the future.
I love everything about this place. The space is funky, yet somewhat minimalistic. I like that it is small and can only hold so many people. There's also the outdoor picnic table option if it's not a gazillion degrees out. The service is great and my husband and I are always welcomed and made to feel at home. Others before me have commented on the lack of menu options...while true, the items that they do offer are so delicious that I have no complaint. The drink selection has also improved based on what yelpers before me have said. They had a few soda selections as well as sparkling water (and soon to be alcohol!). Yeah, the prices seem a bit high when you realize you're paying $8.50 for a sandwich, but let's be honest...the quality is totally worth it and you can get like two meals out of that bad boy. Plus, when I think about other less-awesome restaurants around the valley (hello Paradise Bakery), the price is surprisingly comparable. I'll take my deliciously fresh bread, creamy mozzarella, and flavorful tomato any day for nine-ish bucks.
So yeah, nothing negative for me to say. Shocking, right? I will continue to be back here regularly. And with Lux right next door, what's not to love about this little central Phoenix stop? Plus, they're going to have alcohol soon! I'll be on pins and needles 'til then...
