| - I have been going to this salon for several years now, and have never once been disappointed with its atmosphere and service. The salon moved to a new location and thus everything is brand new. The salon is both clean and aesthetically pleasing. Definitely a relaxing and comfortable environment to be in.
The hair stylists (Lani and Gloria) are both kind, friendly, and welcoming. They are always happy to see new and familiar faces. They're not one of those robotic hair stylists that just cut your hair with a solemn face. They engage you in friendly conversation and really just want to know YOU. They'll even offer you free coffee/tea and snacks! They do their best to make you feel at ease. The salon has a very "motherly" feel.
But don't get me wrong, this salon also offers very trendy and popular services. They deliver exactly what I ask for, or surprise me with something better! They're honest with what they can do with your hair type. From their years of experience, they know exactly how perms and highlights will turn out. They are true experts in what they do. But they are also willing to take risks and learn new things. Lani even learned how to do a waterfall braid for me!
All in all, it's a one-stop shop for me. I go there for wash, blow-dry, hair cuts, and highlights. I also go there for waxing (e.g., eyebrows, arms, legs, bikini). They have a private room for that - so that is always nice!
I also go to Hair Tips for special occasions like prom, formals, and weddings. Lani is amazing with her up-dos. She's a perfectionist - so she'll take her sweet time with your hair. I truly believe she feels like an artist working on a masterpiece. For one of the weddings I went to, she spent so much time weaving each individual curl into a bun of art! I got so many compliments on my hair! It lasted the whole night! And if you want to keep you hair down and have clean, non-frizzy, perfect curls - ask for Gloria. She's amazing with the curling iron. She'll curl your hair into beautiful ringlets that will last. You'll feel so pretty with them.
And if you're like me and need some new accessories - they sell beautiful and affordable jewellery (e.g., necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches) and purses! This salon has everything. I have seen some of the same/similar jewellery at stores like Bitter Sweet and Swarovski. But only at 1/4 to 1/3 of the price. You should definitely check their selection out. They re-stock on a regular basis.
There is something for everyone - for both men and women, young and old! You won't be disappointed.
