  • First time in for brunch. This place like many other breakfast spots in Phoenix is BUSY!! If it's a day off or a holiday expect to be on a waiting list for a table. We waited about 25min. I imagine that it's always a tad hectic in there, but today they were really getting their butts handed to them. They were slightly understaffed due to someone not being there so it seemed like the staff were a bit stressed out trying to keep up. Lucky for them the owner showed up and jumped into the fray to help get things back on track. Other than the food taking a bit longer than I would have liked, it wasn't that bad. I didn't get hangry or anything. My wife had the avocado Benny which was nicely presented and she said was really good. I had originally gone in there to have their chicken and waffles but I got sidetracked by the chicken fried steak. It was a chop steak breaded and Fried smothered in white country sausage gravy and I got sunny side up eggs on top tater tots on the side. I love chicken fried steak and this was a good one however I have never really liked white country gravy. It's not that it was bad it's just that every time I've had country gravy it's always just bland paste I always have to add salt to it, and I rarely salt my food. I also added a little hot sauce to give it some help. Like I said it's not the gravy wasn't good it's just that I don't like that kind of gravy and I keep forgetting that. Otherwise it was a great meal I'm definitely gonna go back as there are about 10 things on the menu that sound amazing! They even have something called a Thanksgiving waffle which is stuffing cooked in a waffle iron and covered and turkey and gravy! Totally original! Definite food porn! Our server was friendly and efficient despite being stressed out. It should be noted that the girl who Who brought our meals asked if there was anything else we needed I said ketchup. She nodded and was never seen again. I got the busboy's attention and asked him for ketchup. He mumbled something to the affirmative and also disappeared into the abyss never to be seen again. When our server came to do a food check on us I asked him for ketchup and he made it back from the black hole that the other two got sucked into and delivered my condiment. Like I said the place was a little bit overrun and the staff was flailing. However if breakfast food is your thing then you must try Over Easy!
