| - The amount of love I have for this place is truly sickening! This has been my go-to sushi spot for the past 6 years.
First off, I'm not a seaweed fan... I was scarred by seaweed in my childhood lol. So I only eat tempura rolls and/or nigiri (and appetizers). I love that the AYCE includes appetizers, and now ramen as well too!
My husband and I come here on a monthly basis. We both do the AYCE and order a ton of appetizers. Some of our favorites are: spicy tuna cracker (FAVORITE!!), garlic edamame, teriyaki chicken (hit or miss), shrimp tempura (2 pieces/order), vegetable tempura, udon noodles, and pork belly with mango salsa (hit or miss). My favorite nigiri here is the cajun albacore nigiri.
The food comes out family-style, meaning it just comes out as it is done. So we usually order everything at once.
They have a specials board. Some of our favorites have been the lemon salmon nigiri, chocolate mousse, cookies-n-cream ice cream, and the sesame mochi (favorite!!). We haven't seen the sesame mochi in forever. That was the best dessert ever! That's the sad thing about specials... you get attached to temporary items!
We love this place so much that we had our rehearsal dinner here. That time, we were sat in the private room on the left. It was a chaotic night with some food being served to the wrong tables and missing items. But we were a party of 20, so I understand.
Service is hit or miss here. It just depends on who your server is. This is why I am giving this place 4 stars. Also because of the inconsistency. The food doesn't always taste the same, and sometimes it's cold. More often than not though, everything is great.
If you are going to order a lot of sushi/nigiri, I would highly suggest sitting at the sushi bar! Your food comes out much quicker, and it's cool to watch the sushi chefs!
Make sure you come during dinner, as they don't have the full appetizer menu available during lunch. Also, be sure to ask for a stamp card. For every 10 AYCE meals purchased, you get a free meal.
