| - I have had mixed experiences at this salon. I really liked the first stylist that I went to - for the cuts she gave me, and for her personality. She went on maternity leave and, unfortunately for her me and her other clients, never came back.
I decided to try someone else since I had a good experience and the prices are reasonable. I went to a few other stylists that were ok, but not great enough to specifically request when making an appointment.
The last time I went I was booked with a tall, thin, young guy with pink hair. My hair was shoulder-length and straight at the time, and flipped up at the ends (my hair has been this length other times and other stylists have told me that I needed to either let it grow or cut it shorter since it was flipping due to way it was hitting my back/shoulders), but he assured me that he could fix this. Of course it was flipping the same after his cut as well; I didn't expect any different, but didn't appreciate being told that he could do something that he couldn't do.
Several times throughout the appointment he mentioned colouring my hair and I kept telling him that I wasn't interested. It would have been fine to mention it initially, but not to keep harping on it after I had declined. He made me feel like my natural colour was ugly, and he could make it look soooo much better with colouring. I have coloured my hair in the past, but I'm not currently interested because of the cost, the maintenace, and the fact that I like my natural colour. Maybe I will consider colouring again when I start going grey.
