I took in a stray pit puppy a month ago and my friend brought her here for me for her first vet appointment while I was at work. My friend brings her 3 dogs (English Bulldog, German Shepherd mix and Pit) there and loves it. They brought my new puppy to see Dr. Tobin. When they brought her back to me, they told me Dr. Tobin had not charged them for the visit but only for the shots and lab tests because we had taken the puppy off the streets.
I recently brought my puppy (Luna) in for her second set of shots and puppy checkup. From the second I walked in, this place was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and everyone was smiling. Staff kept coming up to me saying hello and that they remembered Luna from the last time my friend brought her in.
Dr. Tobin was very friendly and great with Luna. We also spoke about work and he told me about his kids. He and his staff knew a lot about pits and seemed to really love heir jobs.
Overall a great experience - I would recommend anyone with pets go there.
Update: 03/2012 I had to bring my dog in on a weekend and Dr. Tobin was not available. I saw a female vet whose name I cannot remember. What I do remember, however, is that we did not like her. We found her to be extremely condescending and judgmental and had no empathy when she told us we needed to get my dog a $3000+ surgery and we told her it may take us a few months to come up with the money (this was not emergency surgery). We will go back and see Dr. Tobin who we love but we will not be seeing this vet again. I still highly recommend this hospital but definitely go see Dr. Tobin. I took one star due to this update.
