| - I think the strongest point of CLT is the food options which are not terrible considering typical airport food. I actually had a pretty good panini at Fresh Attractions and there is a Chick-fil-a too. I feel bad for, I think it was terminal A though, the best option there is Wendy's *womp womp*. The employees here at the stores and food locations are actually friendly and TSA weren't jagoffs (I'll use a Pittsburghese term here haha) like I have experienced at the majority of other airports I've flown through. There is currently LOTS of construction so allow plenty of time to get there! What really brought down my experience was retrieving my checked bags on my incoming flight. Yes, we were on an American Eagle plane BUT should we really have to wait 55 minutes (yes, I timed this!) after we arrive at the carousel (about a 10 minute walk from the far-flung gate) to get our two bags?! This was not only ridiculous but completely unacceptable! I felt terrible for a woman on our flight also waiting who was clearly going to be late for a wedding! Good thing it was only my dad continuously circling the airport waiting for us. Let me tell you, that was a fun car ride after he was able to finally get us! When we inquired to staff at the carousel whom were retrieving unclaimed bags, they simply shrugged their shoulders and said, "Yeah, it usually takes about an hour to get your luggage on this carousel." I understand there is nothing I can do about it, but still, it's ridiculous. Flying out of CLT is a better experience , but I will dread my next incoming flight if I check a bag.
