| - Yes, Modern Steak is located INSIDE a mall. The mall itself rocks, but you forget you're in a mall once you walk inside the restaurant.
The servers all wear the same standard uniform: grey slacks, grey vest, white button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and black Converse. YES, I said Converse.
I've eaten here 3 times so my experience with the menu is limited. Everything on the menu is served ala carte; however, the Kobe burger does come with fries. BTW, this burger is awesome (and for $17 it better be). I've only had the Mac & Cheese and Asaparagus for side dishes. Let me say the Mac & Cheese is divine. Corkscrew pasta with tons of cheese baked to perfection. The Asapargus is good, but for $9 I'd expect something better then the Weight Watchers receipe they copy: olive oil, parmesan cheese, baked. If you're an oyster fan, they are small. For $2.50 each, you get what you pay for. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the steak was cooked properly and had a nice flavor. The ability to add a lobster tail to the meal is welcomed and a must do to round everything out. The bread that is served and mentioned by another reviewer is interesting. You receive 2 squares of a baked potatoe bread and 2 squares of sour cream & chive. The butter has chives in it as well. This pairs well with the baked potatoe squares; not so much with the other.
I have yet to save room for desert but I wasn't impressed with the desert menu at all. They don't have creme brulee...who doesn't have THAT on their menu? I will say though, the coffee is horrible. It's too strong and each time I've had it it tasted burnt and old.
On a side note....the restaurant has a walk up window where you can buy sliders & fries, ala carte of course, if you're not interested in sitting down inside with white linen table clothes & napkins.
