If Cheers were a coffee shop... A place where everybody knows your name... Pretty much sums up how the staff interacts with the patrons and how the patrons interact with each other.
I gotta give a shout out to the barista on the Tuesday morning shift. He took a bit of my heckling before making me a gorgeous cappuccino.
Here was our exchange:
Him: What will you have?
Me: How is your cappuccino?
Him: It's decent.
Me: In that case, I'll have a latte.
Him: No - actually it's really good. I've been a barista for [super big number of] years.
Me: Ok then. I'll give it a try.
And then he proceeded to make me a gorgeously crafted cappuccino - nailed the microfoam, nailed the espresso, nailed the pour. Me = very happy.
I've been back - and the cappuccino continues to be epic. Thanks, Tuesday Morning Barista.
I was also able to get a table and work at my computer for a few hours. It's not a huge place inside (definitely more relaxed than the outside appearance seems to suggest) but there was a good stream of people who come and go during the morning.
