  • HORRIBLE SERVICE - don't sharpen your scissors here This used to be one of my go-to places for most sewing needs. The owners are Viet/Chinese, so being Viet myself I liked supporting them until today. I came in for a scissor sharpening (it's hard to find a place to do it these days). I gave them 5 pairs which the gentleman examined each one & said he could do 4 of them. He had a tone with me, but whatever... I'm always here and the wife who is always at the cash has always been friendly. I waited for them to be sharpened and he comes out with 4 pairs. I had to ask for them to let me test them out which I thought was kind of weird and then I noticed that instead of giving me back my 4th pair (big, bright orange handle) they gave me a pair of old, grimy, dollar store scissors that I wouldn't even take for free because they were filthy. I told them that there was a mistake and that those weren't my scissors. For some reason the husband sharpening the scissors wouldn't believe me and started raising his voice and yelling. Telling me that I gave him those 4 and and insisted I was wrong. I was super shocked and had to beg them to look again in the back for me while I checked my bag twice for something I knew they had. The husband came back out yelling, telling me that I was wrong. I began to beg the wife please to help me with this madman because she too saw what I gave them and knew that pair wasn't mine. So I was standing there helpless, telling them that I couldn't leave without my scissors because I used them everyday. My friend who was outside heard everything and had to come in. It wasn't until then that the wife finally went back to look a second time. She wouldn't help me earlier when I was begging her please, but she did after she saw that I wasn't alone. (at this point there was no one else in the store) I told them that he owed me an apology and that I wasn't going to let him talk to me like that. He continued to yell at me, and I just lost it. I couldn't take anymore abuse and I needed my scissors to get out of there. I had to yell at him to shut his mouth, go do his job and sharpen my scissors. For some reason, once I did that he sort-of listened. The wife basically sat at the cash the whole time giggling and smiling like it was entertaining. I don't think that they were trying to steal my scissors, but I do have to say that the service was beyond a nightmare. I'm not sure what I would have done if my friend didn't come in to help. I honestly think he thought he could speak to me that way because I'm 5'2 and and people are always telling me how "little" I am. My friend told the wife that she hopes he doesn't talk to her that way. Which I'm sure he does and worse. Which is why she just sat behind the cash ignoring me while I pleaded with her to help me with her hothead husband. I paid my $25 and left. I won't go there again and I'm not saying you shouldn't either. But don't get your scissors sharpened there, you've been warned!
