Now that I live in Edmonton I decided to "slum" it in southern Calgary on my visits. Since downtown hotel rates are $300 plus per nights, we decided to stay at the delta south.
I was pleasantly surprised with our stay even though it was only one night. We didn't check in til 9pm but we greeted quickly and notified that our standard room had been upgraded! They informed us that we had 24 hour access to the lounge and immediately gave us water bottles. The only catch is that the upgrade was in the atrium building across the way. No big deal- it was only a 5 min walk.
The rooms were older but renovated. We had a large king bed, a couch, fridge, microwave and a spacious bathroom! We checked out the lounge just before bed and they have a full latte machine, fruits and refreshments. We went back for breakfast and they served hot breakfast as well as pastries. They even had smoothie shots!
If you don't mind the 20 commute downtown, this it a great stay for $200 a night.
