I went to Omnia on a Friday night for Calvin Harris. We bought tickets at the door at 11:30p. (Tickets for guys were selling for $125 - I heard they were $70 a few hours ago - and we paid only $40 for my wife!) The advantage of buying tickets at the door was that we skipped the long line for patrons with tickets. We were then herded into the club. We followed signs for main club and were told by bouncers that we cannot enter there but we should go upstairs. After fighting our way to the upstairs entrance to main club, we were told/signalled by a rude bouncer that we couldn't enter here either. At this point, we have spent 20-25 minutes trying to enter the space where we would hear Calvin Harris (the outside balcony had another dj playing). We were getting worried about missing the show altogether when we tried the downstairs entrance again and managed to sneak in to the main club! Most of the main floor was cordoned off for VIP tables and we stood around the center of the stage. The setup is interesting in that you don't necessarily get to see the dj. Then again, maybe you don't have to. The energy at the place was incredible. However, I wonder if the energy was all due to the sheer desire of the people to have a ball rather than the venue itself. We tried to get a few shots and that spent another 20 minutes in line until we finally buy ourselves some drinks.
