| - Actual rating is 4.9/5. I've read through all the reviews for AvantDerm and did some research looking at other dermatology clinics but felt that they were still the right fit based on what I needed. Most other clinics had websites that did not state they were able to provide the service I was looking for. Decided to take the advice of many and arrived at 7:50am. Was notified that it would take about 1.5hours so 9:30am estimated time. I brought a book, something to knit, a game to play and time went by quickly. By 9:40am, I was called in and was seen by Dr Singh. I read through some bad reviews here about him but he was nothing like that. He was kind, thorough, diagnosed quickly, referred appropriately and even asked if I understood everything. Ultimately, yes, it was close to a 2 hour wait to be seen for around 10-15 minutes, but it was efficient. The report was provided right away and having this walk-in service is such a blessing as opposed to waiting weeks for an appointment with another clinic. People complain that they were only seen for "3 minutes" and that they waited so many hours, but that itself is ironic. They want other patients to cut down time with their examinations but want more time with the doctor themselves. It just doesn't work that way. If you want a fast diagnosis with a potentially urgent case, come to AvantDerm. Expect a wait, but also expect an unbiased doctor's opinion. They aren't your family doctor that you've seen for XX amount of years that you have 30 minute conversations with. Don't expect to be coddled. You can ask questions but just keep in mind that the doctors may also have the pressure about staying on a set time limit since there may be another 30+ group of people waiting after you. Sometimes people say it's about money but honestly, when you arrive at a clinic before their opening time with already ~30 other patients ahead of you, you should know the clinic works and it's trying to cater to everyone.
If the wait time wasn't more than an hour, it would be a 5, but I don't blame them. With how popular they are, they were still very kind and thorough with me, despite having so many other patients.
