Dr. Ference delivered my daughter 4 years ago and at the time she was with Goodman and Partridge. Right after her birth, we found out Dr. Ference had switched practices. Since I was pleased with Goodman and Partridge up until that point, I stayed with them instead of trying to find Dr. Ference. I made a big mistake. I never had any issues with the staff at Goodman and Partridge but the billing practices are horrendous. Since we have changed addresses a couple times, I wasn't getting bills from them. I also knew my insurance covered yearly exams at no cost and wasn't worried. I finally got one a little while ago and was shocked at the amount. It was over $400. It seems there was a little bit of a balance of like $15 from one of my visits. Once it wasn't paid, it started charging a $30 fee every month. I never received a call once saying I had a balance and my number has not changed. Of course they wouldn't go to collections because if they get somebody to pay it, why would they go to collections. I also had setup another visit in between and nobody mentioned my having a balance. That second visit was actually done at 6 pm since they advertise late appointments available. What they don't tell you is that they charge extra for this and it won't be covered by insurance. So I also had that charge on top of the monthly fees. I have been fighting this ever since I found about it. I am not sure it's actually legal to charge a monthly fee that is higher than the outstanding charge. Now I have tried to call billing but the person I need to talk to is never there. I will admit that the ones I do speak with are very polite but they keep saying they can't do anything. I have left messages and am still waiting for my call back. Needless to say this has caused me to look up Dr. Ference and I have found her. I just scheduled my next exam at her new practice. I do agree that I owe Goodman and Partridge a little bit of money but refuse to pay all the fees. Hopefully we can come to a settlement. At this point I would even consider half just to get them out of my lives (even though I don't think they should get maybe $40 in actual visit costs and 4 times that in late fees).
I agree with others that say they would give less ratings if possible. The only reason I gave one is because of their staff so far. There are nice people that work there, but their billing practices have to stop.
