I'm loyal to my mechanic, but I've yet to have a reason to be loyal to an inspector. That may change now that I've been to Auto Inspector on Monroe Road.
As others have mentioned, it's not a cute place. There are seven mismatched chairs in the waiting room. The walls are covered in a gray-beige faux wood paneling. There is one piece of wall art that's not related to inspections; a classic Ferrari poster. You can pick up the latest issue of Creative Loafing while you wait, but you won't wait long.
The gentleman that unlocked the door for me at 9am scurried away with my keys and told me, "it'll be 10 to 15 minutes." He was spot on with his estimate; my keys were back in my hands quicker than any other inspection station I've visited.
I'll be back next year. This place is a quick drive up the road from my house, and I can't beat the convenience. It's likely worth the drive even if you're not super close; you're in and out quickly, and if you're as lucky as I was, you get to hear jazz pouring out through the shop's bay doors.
This place is worth a visit. It's ten minutes out of your year.
