| - Although I found this to be a beautiful, cool, and well designed hotel, the staff left me with a bad taste in my mouth, as I thought they were ill-trained and rude. From the minute I checked in, the girl at the front desk was cranky and irritable as was the girl handling the keys. Not cool. Bummed out on arrival. I was exhausted from traveling 3,000 miles from NYC, arriving at noon in hopes of a nap, only to be told that my room wouldn't be ready until 3pm-5pm. Unacceptable!
When I finally got into the room, I called to have my bags sent up to the room, and it took two hours for them to arrive. Would have been better off just bringing them up myself.
At night, staff just walked i right into the room without giving me a chance to open the door, which freaked me out, as one time I was walking out of the shower and a guy walked in and I screamed! Scary. (The "Maybe Later"/Do not disturb sign was broken and kept falling off the door.) It's all in the details.
When I checked out, the guy hailing cabs was a total dick. He gave me attitude/ snapped at me instead of nicely directing me to where the lyfts were, because I said I wanted a lyft instead of a taxi, but was real nice to the people who wanted taxis--only interested in getting his tip. Then he and another staffer watched me struggle with 3 bags as I dropped one of the bags on the ground, and just stood there giving me dirty looks instead of helping me open the door to get outside. That was really disgusting customer service for front doormen. Wouldn't even open the door. Really trashy.
