  • I am writing this review for the grocery pick-up service only. I didn't step foot inside the store and what a blessing that was. (I had surgery a few days ago and thought I was prepared but Nooooo... I Needed quite a few things I hadn't anticipated.) The online ordering was simple and they had everything I needed which were mostly non food items. There was a thirty dollar minimum which I didn't quite meet with bandages and gauze and stuff. I added a few frequently used items including a couple of heavy packages of bottled water. Those always give me problems and I am usually barely able to get them in the trunk and then take them out a few at a time to avoid lifting twice. I'm liking this already The logistics were easy. I downloaded the app and when I arrived I just used the app to notify them I was there and what color car I was driving. Within five minutes the bubbly and polite personnel shopper, Vanessa, had everything in the trunk and I had a little gift bag with a few samples. (Good job hiring! Vanessa was so cheerful I thought I was in Disneyland or something!) There was one item not in stock and I was notified before everything was loaded and I checked when I got home and had not been charged so that was ok As my items were being loaded I noticed someone waiting in a minivan a few parking spots down and she had quite a lot of groceries. It then occurred to me the pick up service is going to be great fir moms! No need to deal with car seats or kids in the store ... just wait in your car with the kids. The only issue I had was when I order online I didn't notice any pick up time options until I was offered them after checkout. I'm so used to everything being near instant I figured it would be an hour or two. Instead, I was presented with multiple two-hour pick up options the next day. That made sense once I saw the logistics and realized they would need to control the flow of pick ups to have a bough pick up spots and employees to shop and load. It also made sense why they would offer standing appointments you could reserve. Based on the limited number of WalMarts that offer this service I'm guessing it's a test market. I hope they do well with it because five minutes in the car sure beats all the time in the store! No extra time for those impulse buys at the register is an extra bonus for me too! I never met a candy bar I didn't like!
