| - If I could leave a zero for the quality of work, as well as customer service, I would.
Took in my suit pants to have a simple tear in the pocket area fixed. The senior seamstress advised me I would have to pay extra as she would need to open up the whole leg to mend this, so I paid up front. Upon receipt of the pants, they briskly told me the work was even more than planned, and had to put in a large (6' + ) patch. When I inspected it later at home, I noticed that the stitching that they had done around the newly patched area was all worn and fraying, and they had created holes across an area as large as my hand, whereas the original hole was the size of a small coin. They had also hemmed the pant leg unevenly, and it had areas along the hem line that gathered, giving it an uneven hem line, looking cheap and unprofessional on a suit that was $2k+.
As instructed on their receipt, I called head office and left all of my information, including receipt number, phone, etc and explained the situation. To date I have never had a call back, and despite needing their help to resolve such a disaster, I don't expect them to.
I'd also taken another set of trousers there on the same visit for a small rip in the crotch along the seam, and I ended up with a 8" thick patch and a huge area of non-sensical seams and stitching all across the area. It looked like a war zone on a pair of dress pants, but less crucial than the suit pants that were noticeably botched.
Knowing I would not get my money back nor a professional fix to their original poor mending, I took my pants to another tailor in the Yorkville area (Espinosa Master Tailor), and they remarked that they weren't sure if they would be able to fix all the damage done during this "fix" by Stitch-It, meaning my suit would potentially be ruined. He removed the Stitch-It patch, mended the hole properly, removed all of the fraying and shoddy hemming, fixed the seam line so it was perfectly straight again, and only charged $15 to do this. Looked as good as new.
Avoid this bargain-mall-style shop so your clothes don't end up in the garbage like my suit could have!
