| - In-n-Out Dentistry - While the office staff is welcoming and pleasant, 4 out of my 5 visits have taken significantly longer than I was told with very hurried interaction with Dr. Younger. My last visit, which was my last visit, took twice as long as planned but to having 6 patients in rooms. After my thorough, professional and gentle cleaning, I was sent for the normal annual xrays. They were training a new xray tech so after about 20 minutes waiting, I was sent back for another set of xrays.
When Dr. Younger did get to me, I told her I brought in my bite guard since it seemed much too tight. Her response is "you need to wear it". I replied "I know but it is so tight it feels like it may break teeth or veneers." She replied "You need to wear it. Try it on." Perplexed, I replied "Ok. You can put it on. This is the place to break teeth and veneers." She tried, but couldn't get it on and adjusted it. It now fits well enough. She then informed me that I needed major surgery on several teeth and that Maria would be in to go over options with me. She then left and Maria entered with my one option.
Each time I have gone in, Dr. Younger has recommended procedures that remove significant amounts of healthy tooth material and cost thousands of dollars (front caps vs veneers,...). I have not felt that Dr. Younger takes enough time to thoroughly focus on my dental needs and defaults to major dental surgery which coincidentally costs thousands of dollars.
Update:
I have since gone to another dentist who did not recommend the extensive and expensive crowns that Dr. Younger recommended. Looks like I saved myself on the order of $1000-$2000 and loss of healthy tooth material.
