  • I went shopping here for my wedding dress on a Thursday afternoon. It wasn't too busy which was nice and I was assisted by a very nice lady who it turns out also sold my sister-in-law her wedding dress 8 years earlier. We were in the store for god knows how long and this woman had no problem running around getting me different dresses and helping me into them. I still had more appointments to attend so I didn't want to make a decision yet but I did find a dress I loved. I ended up coming back two weeks later to purchase the dress. The were making it for me so I came back in 6 months to pick it up. I had such a great experience I decided to go back and find the bridesmaid dresses there. The sales people in that department aren't the same which is unfortunate because the service was mediocre at best. I found a dress I liked and my sister-in-law paid for hers that day. The staff was accommodating enough not to send in the order until all the dresses were paid for. I'd been told stories of the dresses being made separately and turning out to be different shades as they were cut from different bolts of fabric. I also ordered myself a furry jacket that same day as they didn't have it in stock and said it would take a few months to make more as well. The girls all went in for their fittings separately. One of my friends lives in Edmonton and at the suggestion of the staff, she could go into the Edmonton location to try on the dress and then call in her payment information. She said the Edmonton staff were very rude to her and kept trying to steal the sale from the Calgary location. I went in and put a deposit on the last dress myself for my friend who was living overseas at the time. I then went through all the info to ensure they had the right sizes and colors ordered. They didn't. They had the incorrect sizes for all 4 dresses and the incorrect dress style. At least the color was correct. The lady that was helping me had no idea how to even work the computer which was amazing because she wasn't new to this store. I was getting nervous but we eventually got everything straightened out and sent the dresses off to be made. I was given a date for when the dresses should be ready so when I hadn't received a call a few days after, I started calling the store. I was told that occasionally they could take up to a week longer, so I gave them the extra time. Still no call so I called back. They still hadn't arrived. I was getting agitated at this point, just stress I didn't need. I asked for someone to look into how much longer and call me back. Three hours later I had not received a call back so I called again and asked to speak with a manager. She went to check and said they had arrived a week ago, they were still packed in with the last shipment that arrived and I could come and get them. Of course when I arrived, this manager was nowhere to be found and the ladies were flustered at the idea of having to dig through boxes of dresses to find my four. I did eventually get them & they were correct. I then enquired if my jacket was in, they had no record of it even being ordered. I gave them my receipt and asked how this happened. They were just as surprised as I was. The receipt printed was for the jacket I ordered but that order was nowhere in the system. They said that was impossible that the jacket was rang in (and receipt printed) but wasn't showing in the system as being purchased. Now I want to know what happened to my money since my jacket isn't even ordered. It turned out that when I went to pay the balance of the bridesmaid dress that I had put a deposit on, they took the money from my jacket to cover the balance (which didn't have to be paid till the dresses were picked up). They quickly tried to make amends and rush order a jacket for me. I decided to cut my losses. The dresses were correct, the service has been a mess, I do not want to step foot in this store again so I do not need a jacket this bad. After this experience, I will not recommend this place to anyone shopping for dresses. Sure they have a big selection but the terrible service isn't worth the trouble.
