  • After searching Yelp for weeks and posting a thread asking for anniversary dinner suggestions on the Strip (thanks, helpful Vegas Yelpers!!), my husband and I settled on Mon Ami Gabi. I am SO glad we did. Had an 8:00pm reservation and when we got there we were greeted by the friendly hostess and taken right to our table. We were seated in the really cute inside/outside patio area, which I would say definitely provides the best of both worlds. You're seated in an open-air style setting, but still have a roof over your head and, best of all, air conditioning...which is crucial when you're dressed up all cute but are dying in the Vegas heat. ; ) AND....you still have a view from your table of the beautiful Bellagio water show across the street. PERFECT. The only small thing I wished was different was that only one of us could face the street/show at our little two-seater table...would have been ideal to sit side by side and both enjoy the view. : ) Our waitress came to greet us and had lots of wonderful suggestions to share. I ended up ordering the Thyme-Seared Salmon with Orzo Pasta & Lemon Butter sauce and my hubby ordered the Filet Mignon with Frites (thinly sliced fried potatoes...tasted to me like a cross between a french fry and potato chip). The salmon was huge and the flavor of the sauce was outstanding....my husband also thoroughly enjoyed his filet. They were both TO-DIE-FOR.....SOOO good. When it came time for dessert our waitress again made amazing recommendations...I got the Crème Brulee and my husband took her suggestion and tried the off-menu dessert special, which was a bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. The Crème Brulee was really good, but I'd say the bread pudding was the winner....OMG. I almost wanted to steal that from him. ; ) She also highly recommended the Flourless Chocolate Cake, which I LOVE. I wasn't in the mood for it that night, so will definitely try it on our next trip. Our waitress was incredible....SO attentive and warm....making sure to take her time with us and check on us frequently....wishing us a Happy Anniversary at the beginning and end of our meal and even taking a keepsake picture of us with our camera. She definitely made the experience a memorable one. If you are looking for a great place to spend a special occasion in Vegas without breaking the bank, I'd say this is definitely it. Our check came out to only around $120 (including tip) for two entrees, two desserts, and two alcoholic drinks. Not bad at all considering other places I researched on the Strip.... Overall, I absolutely LOVED Mon Ami Gabi. From the ambiance, to the food, to the view, the service....the entire experience was top notch!
