  • We love this place! We rescued one of our girls from here in 2010. We had a girlfriend rescue a Shih-Tzu, as we did, in Nov 2012. I know it is a kill shelter but they do their best. This shelter takes EVERY kind of animal in. I am not sure other shelters have the same policy. Their solar panel array is to be marveled. We also enjoy the low cost shot clinic. We are flying our pit bull in on PetAirways to have her spayed here because the cost is so much cheaper than in MI. it is nice to have the cost so low for these procedures. The staff is well organized. They keep great records. Whenever we are in town we donate blankets and $. The staff is great. The non-human companions needing rescue are so sweet. They have every kind of animal, pure-breeds, puppies, kittens. In November, our friend rescued a 5month old adorable Shih-Tzu from here because she wanted a Shih-Tzu from the same place we got our little girl. They are both so lovely. Do not go to the "pet shop" rescue your best friend from here!
