I was referred here by my allergist when he had exhausted all other options to solve the problem I am having. So when I checked in on Yelp and I saw the reviews a moment of panic did engulf me. I thought am I going to be waiting forever to even get called back, should I just tell the front desk I want to reschedule so I could avoid the appointment altogether or what if I did get called back and the doctor wanted to do some sort of testing, then what?!? I just told myself to be open minded and do whatever felt comfortable. I was called back about 45 minutes after checking in. There were a few people in the waiting room and I had filled out lengthy paperwork beforehand that likely needed to be gone over so 45 minutes didn't seem too unreasonable based on that.
The nurse that did the initial assessment and went over my history and my issue said that the doctor would want to do a diagnostic procedure. At this point I had not met the doctor yet and I was also uncomfortable about getting any billing surprises so I asked the nurse to check my insurance so I would know my out of pocket before proceeding. While I was waiting Dr. Sikand came in and discussed my issue further. He was very friendly, didn't make me feel rushed and explained the procedure. The nurse let me know that I wasn't going to get any surprise bill and I felt comfortable enough to proceed. Based on Dr. Sikand's assessment, I am off to another specialist so most likely I won't be returning to this office, but as far as this visit goes I have no complaints. I am only knocking it one star because the referral I was given was to a doctor whose name comes up in EndoscopyGate 2008 and I'm not comfortable with that as I imagine most people wouldn't be.
