This park is awesome. Coming from the Chicago area..I was used to dog parks that required a ton of paperwork and an annual fee to join. And that's IF they had room for a new member.
This park is FREE. No paperwork needed. Awesome.
It's a HUGE fenced in field for your dog to run around like crazy. There is a large fenced off timid dog area as well. I find myself forced to use this section with my small dogs because almost all the dogs running around the field are big and rowdy.
Most of the dogs are well behaved...but obviously dogs will be dogs. Note to fellow dog owners: If you know your dog is short tempered or you're not SURE how it's going to act around other dogs...leash it for a couple visits to get it used to the park/dogs. You can tell when all the newbies are there because more fights happen.
There is a water fountain near the entrance. I suggest bringing some kind of container to fill up on your way in.
There are plenty of tennis balls scattered on the ground for you to use. And people are pretty good about cleaning up the poop.
From what I hear, they're closed on Thursdays for maintenence....clean up...whatever.
Mornings seem to be better than evenings. There are more of the "regulars" in the morning. Evenings tend to have younger people with rowdier dogs that misbehave more. Just a tip. Seriously, don't bring your dog if it's an asshole. People WILL call you out for it.
