I ventured here craving some fine dining fare. The elevator up offers very nice views of the city. The restaurant has a very chic ambiance and again offers beautiful views of the city. Since seating was booked I sat at the sushi bar, which offered full service. I ordered the Lobster Tail. I am probably going to come off as being very particular here but given the class of restaurant I suppose it's warranted. When I received my plate, it was placed by the edge of the counter very close to my lap, and the Madeira sauce was on the side of the plate towards the edge making it possible for the sauce to spill onto my lap. Also, the crab stuffing fell off the lobster slightly ruining the presentation. In any case, the dish was delicious and hit the spot.
Looking at all the sushi forced me to cave in and order the Unagi Nigiri (eel sushi), which was also very good. For dessert I ordered the the mini chocolate guava roulades which was splendid. I loved how the mint leaves went with it. The service was very good and the manager came down to check on me and see how I was doing.
All in all, I very much enjoyed my meal and although I did not get to enjoy the view from my seat I'd say it was worth the price. When you do pay that price however, I do feel the criticisms are warranted, but this really did not detract much from the overall satisfaction of the meal and experience and thus stand as opportunities for improvement. That said, I'm glad I got to come here and enjoy this fine dining experience.
