| - I am one of the many people stranded at the Austin airport on Nov 2nd. So, I came across a new MEM-AUS route in July in the newspaper and decided to give Allegiant Airlines a try. I booked round trip tickets, only to find that my return flight was rescheduled to the next day on the day of travel, only to be canceled eventually. And without any communication the second time. The flight was rescheduled due to "weather" the first time, when the weather was perfect outside and the other airlines were operating on schedule at the Austin airport. The only thing the lady at the counter was able to tell me was that "there are only 10 planes that can land at MEM in an hour and we don't have a slot, Southwest may fly to MEM, you can check with them". Yes, if I had chosen to fly any other airline earlier, I could have saved over 300 dollars (I had to make a last-minute reservation with Delta) and more than 24 hours, not to forget all the frustration and inconvenience.I thought before flight schedules are made, the airports have to be approve it. Well, I was wrong- looks like Allegiant chooses to sell out tickets, and then checks whether it has authorization to land/takeoff. I am not expecting any fancy amenities from this low-cost airline, but random cancellations without any reschedule is extremely unprofessional. I would definitely everyone against flying Allegiant. Allegiant's attitude towards customers is disturbing!
