  • Our cat developed an eye infection and we brought him in to see the vet. We were going on vacation so we decided to leave him at the pet resort so he could receive medical treatment while we were away. We were assured that he would be taken care of and his eye would be much better when we picked him up over a week later. When we picked him up his eye was still infected. I called the vet the day after we picked him up explaining that the medication they gave him wasn't fully taking care of the problem and I asked if my cat could try a different medication. They said I would have to bring him back in for another exam and we had already spent over $600 for boarding and vet services. I asked if we would have to pay for another exam since I just picked him up 1 day earlier and they said I would need to talk to the doctor during the exam about being charged. I don't understand why we would we have to bring him in when he already had an exam for the exact same issue and he was there the day before. Plus he was there for several days, wouldn't you think a vet tech would say, "Hey Dr. Savard, this cat's eye still is infected, should we try something else?" Whenever I go to the doctor they prescribe a medication and tell me if I am not better soon to give them a call and they will try a different medication. I think this should be no different. They also thought cat needed a dental cleaning in 6 months or so and he's only 2. We got a second opinion and they said his teeth were fine and healthy. We will NEVER return. Update 12/4: No one ever offered me or my husband to waive the exam fee to bring my cat back in. I called the day after we picked up our cat (who stayed there all week.) I was told to bring my cat back in for another exam and I asked if we would have to pay again because my cat was just there the day before. The front desk person said that would be something I would have to talk to the doctor about when I brought my cat back in so there was no guarantee I would not have to pay for another exam. My husband tried calling about this as well and he received the same answer from that individual which was very frustrating. Obviously we would have brought our cat back in if the exam fee was waived when we asked if we would have to pay or else we would not be writing this review. We didn't receive a follow-up phone call until weeks later--after this review was posted. By that time our cat's eye was better and improving as we brought him to another vet recommended by a friend a week before your call. We do not wish to communicate about this issue further as we are already accused of not telling the truth when in fact every statement has been true and what happened. We appreciate the apology in the message, thank you.
