  • I saw the Go-Go's 2 days ago at this medium-sized venue (seats approx 5,000) and was impressed at the professionalism on the staff and band members. Like I always state, a venue does influence how well the band played based on how the band had been treated by the venue management during their stay. This makes the hassle of paying for an entertainment and showing up from where you were located all the worth it ;) I reserved Club Level 205 Row 4 Seat 20 and I like the incline feel that made me feel like I was sitting on a balcony. A reminder that if you get 205 to be sure to get seats on the left or right sides due to the Sound Control area situated smack-dab in the middle that may block the bottom of your view if you're planning to take pictures or video- in case it may bother you if you prefer the silhouette heads of the concertgoers to show instead. Even while I had a reserved seat, I was able to get up and move around other locations to take good shots. You're not obligated to stay put. The Club section has its own concession, restrooms, and lounge areas (non-smoking for inside) / outside (cancer sticks). The acoustics were excellent and the air conditioning was at a comfortable level. The stage was very open and wide but the seats were horizontally squished in where you'd have to actually stand up and move back a bit for people to walk back/forth (which they did constantly!). But, my Seat 20 was 2 seats from the aisle so I got to just move out to the aisle and not deal was getting closely brushed, esp. if someone's fat. The seats were also lined up the evenly which makes it difficult if a tall person was sitting in front of you. Poor designs! I didn't purchase food because I was smart enough to eat a full meal beforehand and I didn't want to contribute to their overpriced junk. I was able to bring a small water bottle of my own and gum. There are water fountains to fill up the bottle. I also didn't purchase merchandise because the band only sold shirts, authentic drum stick, and autographed posters; I collect concert books or buttons/pins only. (I'd like to thank those in line for letting me cut in front of them to check out the merchandise in advance so that I wouldn't be in line for nothing. The staff selling the merchandise was also kind enough to answer my question in advance also.) The floor inside the small arena was very sticky as if they never clean the floor- ever, and the restrooms were pretty dirty. They need more staff to keep up with the the cleaning schedule more often. The ushers were accommodating and an independent security outside the venue was polite and didn't raise any hassles. More lighting would be nice inside the arena for people to find their seats quicker without relying too much on the ushers or even getting lost. Overall, everyone was pretty friendly and tolerant (except for those bawdy old alcoholic coots (which Phoenix is loaded with) who were only there to hang and not see the band and those who kept walking in/out (& in/out) the arena willing to miss the band for a smoke or to hang at the lounge (I could tell they weren't that interested in seeing the band because they didn't bother take pictures...what a waste of money! I showed up to see the BAND the way it's supposed to be, right?) It was my 2nd visit at the venue. The venue used to be called Dodge Theater before Comerica Bank purchased it. I saw the Radio City Christmas Spectacular/Rockettes back in 2005 when they were touring from New York City, and I had the 1st row at far right facing the stage (the Pit) and were able to smell their new costumes as they performed :) Looks like not much changed since... Don't let a fleck of dirt or smell or weird Arizona people bother or scare you from attending a show at this venue. Just show up and have a good time! I got my money's worth, despite the fact that I'm not like many of these people (i.e. I don't drink). You can always take a good shower once you return home ;)
