  • Awesome donuts. Stopped by this am, to break my 14-hour overnight fast, and picked an old fashioned and a triple chocolate. Both cake. Wouldn't call them massive in size, but substantial and weighty. The old fashion was dense, tender, wonderful mouthfeel and texture, and the white creme into which the top was dipped was a heavenly, creamy, gooey coating. A meal in itself, and I can usually eat several standard donuts at a sitting. It took a couple hours to feel ready to eat the triple chocolate. Dense yet. Tender, chocolate-ish cake, rich chocolate frosting, and garnished in mini chocolate chips. Another great tasting donut! Both are calorie bombs, and both carry the richness of the cooking oil. A single donut seems to be completely filling, both from the stomach and mouth points of view, making them unlike any donuts I've ever had. Maybe these are like donuts that my mythical home-made-donut-making grandma would have made!!! These are awesome donuts, well worth eating. However, they come at a significant cost delta over plain-old Dunkin' Donuts type donuts. The pair cost $4.84 including any taxes. That's a lot of money for what until now I'd considered to not be worth that kind of money. After considering that, perhaps it's time I contemplate that $2.42 for a morning meal isn't a bad thing, rather than thinking of these as "just" donuts. There is no comparison when it comes to taste and mouthfeel.
