  • Waldo's is a place you have to try if you are in the Mesa/Gilbert area. The setting has a kitchy somewhat campy theme inside and out. It's kind of like a Route 66 diner but much better. The ceiling is painted with clouds and the restaurant is very open. I think they might even have a back room also. Your choices on BBQ are plentiful and the endless sides are a total bonus, even though buy the time you're done with your dinner, ordering more on the sides doesn't usually happen for me. Last time I was there I got the pulled chicken. What is mouth watering is the sauce they used. They put it in a little skillet and you can use as little or as much as you like. The tanginess of the sauce with a little bit is just what you want from a BBQ. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The service every time we come to Waldo's has been excellent. You can't beat the value and service. Every time I am here, I always say I wonder why this place hasn't been on Diners, Drive-In's & Dives.
