| - Seriously $65 for a basic oil change.
Lets run down the pricing
$45 for the oil. Nice that it is castrol, but $45 for basic oil?
$12 for the filter, and it is probably a generic one. I could pick up a Fram filter from the auto parts store or Walmart for less.
and then 13% sales tax.
total bill would have been close to $65. I was enticed to try this place with the $8 coupon, but that drops my bill to $57, that is still too much. There are places in the states that will change your oil for $20 with a new filter. I will just make sure to schedule an oil change in the US next time.
I told them that $65 was too much for a basic oil change and then they wanted to negotiate. They tried to hold me hostage. LOL. Won't be going back here again.
The free copy of the Toronto star is a sad attempt at customer service; it costs them very little, and I can read the news on my smartphone anyways. You can keep that copy of the Toronto Star.
Their staff is also very intrusive and pushy, I think their knowledge of cars is questionable, and their upsell tactics are borderline lies and aimed at those who are not informed about cars. I feel like they just hired some people of the street, gave them a one week course on how to upsell, and then fire them if they don't perform.
Not sure, if all Mr. Lube locations are the same, but I would avoid this place, unless you absolutely cannot find something else.
