  • This is the worst customer experience I have had. I moved into a property managed by Rowan at the Soho lofts in downtown Las Vegas one month ago. For starters, Robyne (the agent who handled my lease) originally told me that I could have the the last week of the month preceding my lease for free. I thought this was odd, but figured she had cleared it with the owner and that he wanted the unit occupied, so I accepted. When she e-mailed me a copy of my lease a week later, she had included pro-rated rent for that week. I called to explain that my current lease wasn't up and that I did not need the unit before the first and had only agreed to take it early because she promised there would be no charge. She responded that she hadn't actually cleared that promise with the owner and that he would not agree, so that is why the charge was included. Seriously. She didn't even call to ask me if that was okay, she just tried to sneak it in the lease and luckily I caught it. I had her change the leasing documents and just took the property a week later, when I actually needed it. On the day my lease started, I went to Rowan to pick up my keys and move-in packet and the woman at the front desk explained that I would need to wait for awhile because I hadn't notified anyone I was coming. I explained that I had sent Robyne an e-mail two days before with my move-in time (this was also the first day of my lease, so its unclear to me why I would've needed to notify anyone in the first place). The lady then half-heartedly apologized and stated that nobody had gotten that far in the e-mail yet. After waiting around for a half hour, I got my key. When I moved in that afternoon, most of the kitchen cabinets were broken, 12 light bulbs were out, the place was dirty, uncapped wires hung from the ceiling, the gas stove wasn't working, the garbage disposal was jammed, the fire alarm was beeping because the batteries were low, the air filter was filthy and looked like it hadn't been replaced in a year, and the refrigerator wasn't working, which I would later learn was due to an electrical problem. About half of these problems have now been fixed, but it has been an uphill battle. Nobody I have spoken to at Rowan has apologized for these deficiencies and Robyne acts annoyed any time I contact her for a status update. To top it off, I have been begging for the key to the storage unit since I moved in to no avail. I'm debating just giving up and counting down the days until the end of my lease. I decided to rent this unit over identical units for the same price simply because I liked the paint colors the best. In hindsight, I would rather paint a 1,350 square foot loft-style apartment and then have to re-paint it white at the end of my lease than deal with this company. Do not buy, rent, or sell a property if Rowan is involved. Save yourself.
