| - Tip #1, they are very laissez faire about checking bags, security and customs. and I don't mean regarding the actual checking. They are very thorough. I mean the time they get to work and open up shop. If you have an early morning flight, arrive 3 hours beforehand for long hauls, 2.5 for NY, Boston etc. trust me.
Tip #2, they have never argued with me on the number of ice cidres and maple whiskey bottles I stuffed into my bag at duty free. the exchange rate is great right now so go nuts.
Tip #3, they have nuts too. great for the plane ride along with sipping the whiskey out of a paper bag after the flight attendant passes. :-)
Tip #4, eat before you get there. regardless of the time of your flight. there are all night poutine (La Banquise) and all night bagel places (Fairmount) in Montreal (see my other reviews) so you have no excuse to be eating airport fast food.
Tip #5, the free WiFi works in line to check in/check bags, and in the terminal, and even on the curb if you don't move your phone, but not in the customs area. (Where you shouldn't be on your phone anyway, I'm told)
Tip #6: get familiar with this place because Montreal and Quebec/Quebec City are incredible, better than any other part of Canada for many many reasons (except skiing), and the summers are epic and packed with a million festivals and a new Cirque each year.
