  • I was in the habit of taking my little beagle to one of the chain stores for grooming; I won't name names, but you know which stores I'm talking about. They always did a good job, and some of the groomers remembered us from visit to visit. I never realized that having your dog groomed can be such a personal and pleasant experience until I visited Las Vegas Spaw. Our little beagle passed away in May, but we now have TWO new puppies, another beagle and a Cairn terrier (think Toto). The Spaw is around the corner from us, literally; so naturally, when the puppies got into, well, poop to be blunt, they needed grooming fast (although the puppies themselves didn't seem to give a hoot). Lilac and Jackie were so accommodating and friendly that I wanted to spend the whole day with them! (If you value your eardrums, though, don't think about it. (Unless the sound of happy puppies playing and yapping soothes you. Jackie and Lilac are either immune, or they love it!) Their love of animals is evident, and their customer service is beyond reproach. And I don't know who groomed the dogs, but they did a bang-up job, and the puppies were so relaxed and happy they slept until dinner time (if you have more than one, you'll know what a blessing that is!). The best part? I spent the same amount of money getting two dogs groomed that I would have spent getting one dog groomed at one of those PetSmart/Co/Land chain stores. It's like getting one dog groomed for free! And ya gotta admit, the name is cute!
