This was one of my picks while my husband was none too thrilled about the idea. I must say my stomach got a little queasy but maybe it was because I gorged myself at happy hour right before or it was the rumble of the escalator that is above it? I also feel that these bodies are not grotesque in anyway, it is just a frame of mind. If no one told you they were actual humans, most would not think twice about it.
Anyway, i got discount tickets from my hotel concierge and it was $21 per person which is more than enough. Anymore would not be worth it because it is somewhat small. It is fascinating to see the nervous system and muscles that are in your body and no wonder why we have so many aches and pains. I was particularly fascinated with the fetus room because you always see pics in books but never like that. The size scale is incredible. There is a warning sign before you enter the room if you want to avoid it but not sure where it spits you out as this was about 3/4 way in. Oh and they show you a healthy lung vs a smokers lung. There is a big plexi glass box asking people to make the decision to quit smoking and dump your smokes here. There was actually quite few unsmoked cigs in there. Wonder if that was for real or did they place them there for effect? The gift shop had some cool novelty items as well.
Now the parts they would have made it better. It is very dimly lit so don't go in a sleepy state. There is also no where to sit if you had a disinterested partner going because there is a lot of reading. Not good for really young folks obviously. Most of the bodies do look asian and all of same stature so variety would have been better. My biggest complaint is that there was only ONE female cadaver in the whole place! and one display of the female reproductive system. You'd think you would devote a little more space to that since they cross section everything else.
Overall I say see it at least once but go to a bigger one or come to this one at a very cheap rate.
