| - I had a very mixed experience! This was my first visit. There is valet parking. There were a few painters showing their works on the way in, which was a nice touch. I met a new friend at the bar. She recommended this place. The ambiance is wonderful. We decided to stay at the bar for happy hour. They first gave us regular menus, until my better informed friend asked for the happy hour menu. You would think they would come back after a bit to take our order. We finally had to tell them we were ready to order. Literally flag them down. The older balding bartender didn't stop for a moment, instead did his work, but listened to our requests, as he was pouring other drinks and eventually ours. He said go ahead, I can hear you, just yell out want you want, and I will take care of it. He was otherwise too bothered to stop, make eye contact, smile, and acknowledge that we were customers wanting a drink and a postitive experience. All of this in an upscale resurant in Paradise Valley. We order appetizers that were excellent, tasty, and a good value. I wish I had a more attentive bartender. We would have eaten and drank even more.
Well.... it may pay to read more of the former reviews for perspective! I am back here now editting my above review. We ordered the pita and eggplant humus. We did NOT get the larger version as shown in the photo, or veggie box as described here below: were we scammed out of our full plate?
".......The black bean and eggplant hummus and pita bread ($9) was great. The pita bread is baked freshly in-house, and the appetizer also came with a veggie "bento box" full of an array of fresh veggies......"
".........We were ignored in the bar area by all servers who literally were serving guests in front of us and to the side of us . We were trying to make eye contact but was totally snubbed......."
Well in hindsight this is how we felt. Guess they may not like redheads either.
