they have a big internet presence- so if you are moving to Tempe from out of town its tempting to rent from them.
they are terrible. the worst. the pipes of our house had roots growing in them which caused our only toilet to back up into our shower about once every two weeks for the first 2 months that we lived in a house of theirs. they charged us plumbing bills and didn't even hire real plumbers. one plumber they sent told me that tim actually asked him if he would come fix it for free. another plumber came to our house high, when I called rentals tempe to tell them that i was pretty sure the plumber was high they said "that doesn't surprise me".
our lease read that we had to "maintain" the lawn, which was a dirt lot when we moved in. about 8 months into our lease they decided that we should have planted grass and began charging us unreasonably large fees to have "professionals" come to our house and turn on a sprinkler a few times a week.
one month when I went into the office to pay my rent I heard them charging the poor man in front of me, who didn't speak english very well and was clearly confused and being taken advantage of- for fixing a leaky faucet "it wasn't leaking when you moved in"
there is no reason to rent from them. save yourself the trouble.
