I was in a state of trepidation as I ventured forth yesterday afternoon. The ominous rumblings and dark skies had given way to torrential downpour, and I was quickly reduced to a soggy mess within seconds of stepping off the bus. After reading the reviews for this place, I worried I might end up making the trip with nothing to show for it, except perhaps the sorrowful squelching of my water-logged sneakers and an utter lack of dignity.
Fortunately, I was amply rewarded with cupcake glory. Although the a/c and debit/credit machines were down, the selection was not! I ordered a dozen, including Roberto Cavanilla, Christian Diorio, Jean Paul Brule, and S'mores. The Brule (caramel) ones were my favourite - these are not cupcakes you can eat as you multi-task....they are worth a pause and even a few moments of reflection. SO SO SO tasty! I brought these to the Mani/Pedi party at Nailsense (wisely opting to cab there in lieu of further busing adventures). The cupcakes were a real hit!
I'd award 5 sexy stars except the cost per cupcake ($2.50) is quite high for the smallish size. Still, it's a good thing I don't live near this place because I'm sure the lure of frosting would trump my good sense and my wallet on most days. Service was great - I didn't have any problems whatsoever.
