WEDDING NIGHTMARE!!!! The morning of our daughter's wedding at the Mount Charleston Resort started off promising to be a wonderful day then the power went off. No fault of the resort but what followed was an absolute failure on the resort's part to help us solve a very huge problem. Where were the out of town guests going to stay. Have you ever tried to find rooms in Las Vegas for one night on a Saturday afternoon on Super Bowl Sunday. What were we going to feed the guests and where were we going to have the reception. Let alone where were we going to have the wedding since they finally told us they were going to evacuate the entire mountain at 5:30 if the power did not come back on! Wedding was scheduled for 4:30. Resort wouldn't open any restrooms for people and we had no where to change. We kept trying to talk to the manager from 10:00 until 3:00 but was told he wasn't there and they would not contact him. The wedding planner was there in the morning and then disappeared never to be seen again. The poor girl at the front desk was left at the mercy of all us frustrated wedding family and guests. Was finally told we could have the ceremony there but would have to evacuate immediately afterwards. Around 2:30 in the afternoon was told they had some sister properties where we could move the wedding but they were an hour away! Remember the wedding was scheduled for 4:30! By that time we had scrambled to come up with another venue for the reception and rooms for the night. Why didnt they tell us sooner they had another site we could have moved the wedding to. I could go on and on but I would caution anyone from doing business with this company. I have never seen such unprofessionalism when it came to a venue that promotes weddings. All I can say is don't do it. We finally did have the wedding and it turned out beautiful but not because of any help from the resort. I do want to say they finally opened 2 rooms so we could all get dressed. And later the next day after a phone call from my daughter they refunded all the money that had been paid and offered to comp the wedding couple if they evrr decided to stay there again.
