I stopped by here this past Saturday evening with my best mate for evening drinks. It was St. Patrick's day weekend so whenever we arrived shortly after 7:15 the place was pretty full. Thankfully there were two seats open along the wall in front of the chalkboard menu that we were able to snag. The inside of this place isn't too much to look at with a bar dominating the right side of the restaurant with a chalkboard menu next to that, a single TV and then a bar along the wall whenever they had the space for it.
After grabbing a seat I went up to the bar to try and order myself a sampler. It took a little while for the female bartender to get to me as she was talking to either some friends or some regulars and did not seem interested in waiting on us. As a matter of a fact the male bartender pointed us out to her and she continued her conversation for about another minute before finally taking our order. Both my friend and I went with the sampler and I ended up getting an Irish Stout, a Black IPA and a Black Saison in mine. Out of the bunch I think that the Irish Stout was my favorite as I would have preferred a bit more hop out of the IPA. Once those were finished my friend and I debated about heading elsewhere or trying some of their snacks and a pint of something else. Ultimately the snacks and pint won out and after a little bit of a wait again I was able to order a pint of the hoppy wheat beer and some House-made Sweet & Spiced Beer Nuts while my friend got the nut brown ale and the Whiskey Stix Hard Pretzels. The nuts were delivered to us as we expected although I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it consisted of walnuts, almonds and cashews without any peanuts. It was the whiskey stix that surprised us as they were prepackaged in a bag and were those skinny little pretzel sticks you used to get as a kid. That's not to say that they weren't good though as they certainly were and we enjoyed both them and the nuts. We also enjoyed the beers more this time around and each of us thought that they were the best that we had tasted that night.
The bottom line for me is that I will probably stop by here again in the future. I enjoyed my snacks here and the beer for the most part. On those alone I probably would have given this place 4 stars but I was not as happy with our service and so dropped it to 3 stars.
