The first time I went to Siena it was absolutely amazing. So much so that we talked about the food many times between December and this visit. I came in to town to visit family and this place was number 1 on my to visit list. We dined in on a Thursday evening. It wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. The best thing I had that evening was the appetizer of different cured meats and cheeses. It is $24 so a bit expensive, but we shared it among 4 people. You can tell everything is fresh cut and it was just delicious. The other appetizer we shared were the mussels. In December, the mussels were amazing, buttery, and no fishy taste at all. This time not so much. We couldn't even finish them they were so fishy. It was a disappointment for sure. For our entrees I got the linguini with clams. Again, very disappointed. The clams were full of sand and the sauce had absolutely no taste. What a bummer. I was really looking forward to this meal and it just didn't deliver. I am hoping it was an off night for them. I will be back again and hopefully have a similar experience to my December visit. If you do go, splurge for the cured meat platter. It really is worth it.
